Tour guiding
The Netherlands and Belgium
Since 2015 I’ve been working as a tour guide for Rick Steves’ Europe (RSE), an American travel company, established and managed by Europe specialist, travel books writer and radio and television programme-maker Rick Steves – a.k.a. ‘the travel guy’. Inspired by their founder, Rick Steves’ Europe doesn’t simply take their tour members on a visit to a European country, but wants them to truly experience their destination by getting acquainted with local people and their culture.
That’s why many RSE tours are led by local tour guides, and I’m proud to be one of them. By viewing my own country through the eyes of other people, I have learnt so much about Dutch and American culture and how our cultures impact our experiences and point of view.
For RSE, I guide tours to Belgium, the Netherlands and Great Britain. I also coach new tour guides.

Great Britain and Ireland
Since 1998 I’ve been working as a tour guide for SRC Travel, a Dutch tour company specialised in organised group tours with a packed cultural excursion programme.
I guide their tours to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, including city tours on foot and/or by coach. I also write texts for their brochures, magazines and blogs and give travel presentations.
